A few years ago, Managing Director Paul, was lucky enough to taste some 1953 Orlando Barossa Cabernet that had been hanging around in a corner of a cellar for all of that time. And, oh what a wine it was, inspiring the Soul Growers to make a Cabernet that would live and develop in a Cellar for a long time and reward those that love to invest time and patience into their wines. The Soul Growers trust that this wine will provide you with a soulful "Oh, what a wine" experience many years in the future.
This Cabernet demonstrates that there is more to the Barossa than just Shiraz. The fruit was sourced from family vineyards largely on the rich soils along the banks of the Para River. The fruit was open fermented and only had 7-10 days contact with skins. The wine was aged in all French oak, mainly older oak with a little bit of new oak.
This elegant Cabernet is drinking beautifully now but will reward those who let it dwell in their cellar beyond ten years.
